Cage – agent orange
this is a fucking scam
wow, I think you missed something here man.
We all know it is, that’s the point!
It’s a hip-hop freestyle on the original song.
i don’t speak the language so Im ignorant but the delivery and even word sound seemed extremely similar and the original artist is not mentioned that bugged me. sorry bro.
i’m french and i definitely agree with matt, especially when i see teki’s fans don’t the original track and he doesn’t do anything in order to clear his source, you can read stuff like
“stanley would have been happy”
“your freestyle over orange clockwork intro is just mad”
“make other tracks with movie themes”
nah pleaaaaase…
unless this is some kind of thirstin howl tribute?
i’m just confused…
Yeah I agree that it’s very similar matt. I see your point guys, but this has always been how Teki’s freestyles were done and it pleases his crowd.
And I’m not defending him so hardly because i’m not even one of his fans.
Teki never stated he had made the beats himself. Alot of artist pop freestyles over already existing tracks. It’s a common thing that has been going around for ages. The way I see it, Cage is getting alot of exposure with this and I’m ready to bet Teki picked the track out of love and not to actually get credits for something he didn’t do.
I’d like to point out that Teki isn’t making any money on his freestyles and is not planning on doing so. He’s just landing his voice to beats he finds interessting.
Teki is just trying to stay alive in the collective memory, his carreer was a short fad and his talent as an MC is disputable. He is really good at marketing tho…
Unfortunately for him, he’s a casualty of the hipster/blog world that can’t focus on anything except what is new.
TTC and Yelle are sadly associated with a fad that lasted only one summer (2007), along with Tektonic, Nu Rave and everything fluo.
Teki Latex doesn’t deserve any credit except maybe being able to surf a wave for the short time it lasted. I think something he didn’t understand is that he is now under the wave. Something other TTCites understood (anyone hear anything from anyone in TTC recently? except maybe Para One that was always smart in keeping his distance with the collective)
i know its common but most artist give tribute
just for example
The Pixies – Hey (Diplo Devil Remix)
Cage -Agent Orange(Teki Latex Freestyle)
ya know something like that could be done
wish i understood the language im interested in where he went with the song. Is there something you could compare it too? i wouldn’t ask for a translation of the whole song thats tedious but if someone could translate a few verses or at least lines id be stoked.
I’m not gonna respond to the TTC flaming, still they did something recently, and something good. Cf. 2000007 from modeselektor’s Happy-Birthday album (especially the epic ending by Téki) =) While they were indeed sadly associated with the whole Yelle / Girlfriend debate, I’m confident they do have enough talent to keep on producing interesting tracks.
Yes, it’s weird hip-hop, but they’re good at it.
That was pretty lame.
a clockwork orange no?
Recent stuff by TTC ? what about Cuizinier’s Pour les filles volume 3? Tido got Jet Lag out this year and Teki Latex worked with Orgasmic on the Sixpack Anthem, which came out maybe a month ago. I don’t mind argueing with people on what i post but please do get your stuff right before.
TTC was there way before that “wave” you we’re talkng about. Agent Orange is pretty much related to the original stuff they we’re doing with l’armée des douzes.
